Hello my family!

Here are the things going on in my life in Eugene.

1. Eric and Chantel are not ready for baptism yet. Chantel told us
that she feels like she doesn't know enough yet. She is super quiet
and it's hard for her to express her feelings and thoughts. This is
really frustrating! She loves learning and thinks it all could be
true, but isn't sure for 100%. I feel bad cause her husband told us
that he is basically ready to jump in the water, but he won't do it
unless she does. Pray for them. Eric is great. We took a recent
convert with us and she said how she struggles at times understanding
what she reads. Eric then told her that she should pray before she
reads and that would help a lot. haha. I just had to laugh cause Eric
isn't even a member!

2. We spoke in Eugene 3rd ward. I spoke about becoming a member
missionary. I was so grateful that I could share my thoughts of how we
can be prepared, why we do the work and how we can receive strength
and guidance. I know that my mission has helped me be better at
speaking in front of people and not having write out my talk word for
word. haha.

3. Elder Perry is coming to speak to us on Saturday!! yay!

4. I have prayed lately that I would be able to speak to people on a
level that they could see how the gospel could really benefit their
lives. As I did this, I had some amazing experiences. My tongue was
loosed and the words just came. So many times I find that I say the
same things to people and don't think about them as people who need
directions, direction that I could possibly lead them to if I would
just be that instrument that God wants me to be. Honestly, we didn't
get any return apts from those people, but it was an answer to my
prayer and it strengthened my testimony.

5. I love my life in Eugene! I see some weird, crazy, abnormal things.
The other day I saw a man with 5 long braids in his beard. He braided
these long blue ropes into them. When he walked, they dangled back and
forth. I also saw a man riding his bike with a unicorn point attached
to the helmet. Then again, countless girls with hairy pits and legs.
haha.

Those are a few of the things going on. I love this work so much. I
love my comp Sister Singer. She is so amazing and has a strong
testimony of the gospel. Heavenly Father has led us to speak to so
many amazing people and I know it will get better and better each day.
We choose how our day will be and as we follow the Savior, I know it
is even better.

Hello my sweet family!
To start off I have to just tell you a funny story. The beginning of
my mission was so exhausting. My feet hurt, my back ached and I never
thought I would get a good night rest. Well, that hasn't changed too
much, I guess I have just gotten used to it. Well Sister Singer is so
amazing and I love her to death. She also has been super tired the
last week and as she was praying to go to a lesson, she paused for
about 7 seconds. I was kinda confused and didn't know what was going
on. I peeped my eyes open, looked over at her and she was asleep. Out
cold. haha. The work of a mission is so draining. I love her to death
and we still laugh about that all the time.
Let your light so shine. We had a wonderful combined district meeting
this week. We talked about the Matt 5 14-16. I loved being able to
think about light and what that does for us. I reflected of good
people in my life that have so much light and just beam when they are
around people. We talked about the world and how they need this light.
We can't hold back on anything. We will be held accountable for the
decisions we make and do not make. I was so touched to learn more and
more about this light that we each have as members of the gospel.
Christ commands us to "go ye into the world and preach my gospel to
every creature". We do that as we serve, love, invite help and
fellowship. This light will just radiate as we follow this counsel and
show God how much we love him.
We have been teaching a young couple that we invited to be baptized.
The husband automatically said yes, but the wife is really hesitant.
She is skeptical and has some trust issues because of her past. She
was abused, ran over, hair caught on fire and just tortured over and
over again by her family. Her husband wants to wait for her to make
the decision. They were taught by the elders a few months back and she
did not want to join the church at all. She told us that she feels
more ready and knows that her life is in a place where she wants more
God and Christ. I hope we can set a date with them this week.
My comp and I are having a lot of fun together. I love being able to
just talk and help her learn things about the mission. It's amazing
what my testimony has grown into since I've been with her. I have had
to be a lot more confident in my savior and have leaned on his
guidance to know what the heck I am supposed to be doing. I haven't
been as stressed this week, which is a huge blessing!!!
The wards that we serve in are wonderful! They give us referrals like
mad. I love it. This one family, the Oilar's, have 4 boys and one
little girl. The boys are 15, 13, 12, and 10. The girl is 4. I love
going over to there house and just feel like I am at home. It's great
to find those people that just make you feel so much love.
I've seen the Lord in my life each day. Especially as we teach
lessons. So many times I have come out of lessons so humbled at the
fact that I would be used as a vessel to let someone know what God
wants for them. I just can't comprehend how God works. I'm glad that I
can be worthy to be used as an instrument. I know that my mouth is
being filled everyday and it strengthens my faith and gives me courage
to continue to find, teach and baptize people in my areas.
PYoung is absolutely amazing. Cedar always talks about the Turks and
how much love they have. I feel the same way about Pyoung. He called
me the other day to just check up on me. He told me that he felt so
happy to know me and told me that I better bring my own family over to
visit he and SYoung when they are old, gray and bent over. That meant
the world to me!! I love them so much. Each time I just look into
PYoungs eyes I can just see how much care and concern he has for me
and each missionary. He is changing a lot of the things in our mission
and is completely being guided by the Lord. This work is completely
amazing. When he also talked to me I told him how sad I was that I
wouldn't get to have him as a President for too much longer he then
laughed and said "Oh yeah, that was the other reason we were calling,
so glad you said something. We wanted to let you know that we have
extended your call for a year!" I about died when he said that. He
then laughed and said he was just kidding, but wished he wasn't so we
could have more time in the mission. They have changed my mission and
I will be so grateful to them for the rest of my life.
Mormon.org.... you all need to get on that website and share it with
friends, family and neighbors. It is such an amazing tool and we need
to share it. Email friends links to videos of prophets, apostles and
people that have overcome struggles and trials. People don't know that
we have this amazing resource!!
Okay, I've said enough and have rambled a lot.
Know that I am happy as can be. I smile way too much my jaw hurts. ;)

ps. I saw a girl on the side of the road holding a sign that said,
"need beer". Also saw a girl doing cartwheels and dance moves on the
side of the street. I love Eugene.

I have so much to write, but so little time to do it.
I want you all to know how much I love my new comp, Sister Singer!!
She and I get along super well. She reminds me of myself when I first
started my mission. She has a strong desire to do the work, but is
terrified at times. She has a rock solid testimony and brings the
spirit so strong in lessons. She is super cute and girly... haha, she
makes me look like a way frumpy sister missionary. :) I know that our
companionship was a miracle. All the trainers and new missionaries met
at Pyoungs and he interviewed them, we had dinner and then he called
us up one by one and said who we would be training. 5 sisters were
training and I was the last to get called up. The second the 4th
sister was called I ran over to my new comp and gave her a big hug.
That was a way stressful day and I was soooooo relieved when we were
called to be comps together. I am learning so much from her and I
needed her.
Okay so pink washing means that I have taken over a new area from the
elders and get to kinda start where they left off. The areas were both
in a dry spell, so we kinda had to start from the bottom and work our
way up. It has been a challenge, not gonna lie. I still feel
inadequate to do this, but I've seen so many miracles happen and can't
deny the fact the God is leading me and helping me move the work
forward in the area and helping me to train a new missionary. I've
been given so many blessings the last week. Oh yeah and this week has
seemed like a whole year. It has been really long. It is so nice to
get emails from everyone today. I needed this. :)
We had a baptism on sat for Gloria. The person giving the talk didn't
show up, so I ended up giving the talk. We also taught the gospel
princ. class and we get to speak in church in 2 weeks. I love the
Eugene 3rd ward!! They are all so fantastic and they loved that they
have new sisters. They love us so that made me feel good. We got super
excited to have them help us find the people that are prepared in
Eugene.
Eugene is great. The apt was an old elders apt for the last several
years. They cleaned it really well and it didn't even smell like boy.

We don't work in the office now. They didn't want us to because pyoung
feels really strong about us spending as much time in our area as
possible cause he feels that people are just waiting for the gospel.
I'm glad that I get to just focus on the area and helping s. singer
get comfortable with the work.... I debated telling her when I was
coming home, but within the first 10 min she asked me and I gave in.
She is super sad and nervous, but I'm glad I get to leave her with
things that helped me on my mission. Hopefully she will make use of it
and come out better because of it.
We haven't taught anyone all last week. We set up apt with new
investigators. A lot of the time we spent tracting and planning where
people live and just doing prepwork so we don't waste our time driving
all over the place. It has been good.
I feel like I have just rambled a bunch and I can't really express how
I am feeling, but maybe this gives you an idea of how my thoughts have
been the last week... nuts. :)
I love my new comp, I love being a missionary, I love Eugene, I love
Pyoung and I love my Heavenly Father and he is aware of me right now
and forever.

Hey Family!
Oh my this weekend has been a huge suprise, whirlwind, rollercoaster
ride... so much fun!!
Transfer calls: S. Kaufusi got called on Friday afternoon informing
her that she was leaving to Central Point. I heard her say, "when do I
leave?" I was super sad to hear this. Then she handed the phone to me.
The AP then said that I was going to be transferred too!! This is my
2nd area that has closed for sisters and opened for elders (it has
been a Santa Clara part 2). I think I am bad luck for things like
this. haha. He then told me that I would be pinkwashing and taking
over the office elders area in Eugene. I also would be training a new
missionary. (btw the church has asked that we no longer use the word
"greenie" instead call them new missionaries.) I freaked out when he
told me that!!!! I felt so overwelmed, nervous, anxious, excited and
just dumbfounded really. I couldn't believe that I would get
transferred again. This will make it my 5th area and 7th comp. The
office elders are no longer really helping too much in the office, so
me and my comp will get to help out... maybe I will be doing stuff
like Cedar. Who knows, I am just happy to do what the Lord wants me to
do. The more I think about it, the more I am just happy to work hard
and have more miracles in Eugene. I feel good about it. I know that
PYoung is an inspired man. My whole mission I have served with sisters
that have been older in the mission or ones that came out with me. I
have learned a lot and I hope I can teach the new missionary how to
have fun and work hard in the OEM. It will be great. Oh yeah, I leave
today at 10:30!! I go to Eugene to the mission home and do training
with PYoung. The new missionaries will come tomorrow and we will teach
and mingle with them. PYoung will not assign our comp until after we
meet with all the new missionaries!! Wow, all off of inspiration and
revelation. It will be good. I am excited. Your prayers would be
great. :)
I was able to go to Medford Temple to see Randy and Charlene sealed.
What an amazing experience. They asked me to sit with them and act as
family cause none of their family are members. I felt special and
happy to be there for them. They were just glowing. The promises given
in the sealing were absolutely amazing. I am so excited to be sealed
some day! After the sealing we went over to the Baskins (I lived with
them in Central Point) and had pizza and just visited. 2 of the
missionaries that taught them came back, S. Kaufusi, S. Rose and S.
Losee. It was great to be with all of them. I'm so glad I got to do
that.
I am glad I got to serve in Myrtle Creek. I have learned so much from
this area, ward and my comp. I will miss this beautiful place. Not
sure if I would want to re-live this area, but I know that the things
that I went thru here will help me the rest of my life!!
We stopped by and said good bye to a lot of people. Delbert cried the
moment we told him we were leaving. He got out his guitar and sang us
a song. I recorded it.. you can listen to it when i am home. We also
said goodbye to Destiny, Rebecca and others that we taught.
I love this work. I know that Heavenly Father listens to me and hears
my prayers. I love being a missionary. I am happy as can be!!!! I love
you all!! Miss you all!!!

I am such a happy girl. Let me tell you all, I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!

I hope you all have had a wonderful week. I had a great week. Honestly
nothing too out of the ordinary.. still had some dogs that almost bit
us, lots of door slams, people canceling apts, but I had a wonderful
attitude. I think Heavenly Father really opened up my eyes this week.
We taught this crazy guy Ron that came to church last week. He said he
doesn't believe in God and the word faith is "alien" to him. He said,
"I feel like a retirement center escapee talking to a bunch of high
school cheerleaders!" He was laughing so hard. S. kaufusi just looked
at him. The member that was with us said, "I think that you just
offended them, maybe you should say sorry." It was funny that he said
that. We are no longer teaching him. He just wants the social side of
everything.
Destiny wants to get baptized!! Yes! She explained that God had been
pushing her as she read the book of Mormon and she realized that it
was "her time". Very cool stuff.
I get to go to a sealing for Randy and Charlene-- from my first area--
this weekend. I am super stoked. Never been to a sealing, so it should
be a memory I will never forget. We get to have a slumber party with
S. Rose and S. Losee.
S. Nelson, S. Losee, S. Thain and S. Smith all leave in 11 days. I am
so sad!! We went to crater lake today with nelson and losee today. It
was fun seeing them one last time before they leave. I've been crying
all day. I hate losing my sister! It has been pouring the last few
days. I don't think I am gonna get a summer at all this year!! It was
foggy and poured all day at Crater Lake. It was an adventure!
Beautiful.
A story is told of a man that is told by the Lord to move a very heavy
boulder from one side of his house to the other. He works day by day
trying to roll over and budge this boulder. He does this for over a
year. He is able to finally push and push and struggle to make it over
to the side. At the end of the time, he looks back and sees how short
of a distance it really took. He then realizes how strong it made him.
He thanks the Lord. I like this. Sometimes in life we feel like the
Lord asks us to do very difficult things. As we obey, he makes us
stronger. We may not see a the huge fruits of our labors, but as we
examine ourselves, we see how much change has been made. I know that
as I follow my Heavenly Father, he in return helps me. I love this
work. I love all of you. I love the gospel and it has made me so
happy. I love bearing my testimony of these truths. I can't deny these
things. Each day it grows and grows.

We got to have interviews with President Young. I love that man so

We got to meet our new Mission President Young!! He is so great! The
second I saw him I got goosebumps and just knew that he was my new
pres. It was a great confirmation. He and his wife are just fabulous!
They are a lot like the MacDonalds. We get to have interviews this
week. I'm excited to talk with him more one on one. The first thing he
said to me was, "Sister Glasgow, you don't look like you did in your
picture." haha, hopefully I haven't changed too much from when I left.
:) He laughed and said I looked better. ha. He is so positive and
really wants to get the work going. He really put the fire in us to go
out and baptize Oregon. This will be a wonderful change. He talked a
little about the MacDonalds and told us they were crying as they
pulled out of their driveway. As he spoke, I just started crying. My
eyes wouldn't stop watering. I wasn't expecting that at all. I really
miss PMac, but am grateful to have a new Pres for a little bit. We had
a discussion about "Days Never to Be Forgotten." These truly are days
that are sometimes long, hard and trying, but I will NEVER forget the
time I have had to serve the Lord. I was able to reflect on the
desires that I have in my life and I know that thru prayer and
laboring with diligence, those things can be granted as we have faith.
What are our desires? Enos 1;12.
I had one of the worst door slams of my mission thus far. It was
pretty funny. A girl answered the door and we said "How are you doing
today?" Her reply, "It would be a lot better if you would stop
interrupting me!!!" They she slammed the door super hard in our faces.
I just walked away laughing. She then came back out and said, "You
know what, it would be so much better if you would tell your people to
stay the "F" off of my property!!" Then she proceeded to go back and
slam the door again. It was great. I love rude people that cuss me
out. :) I also got bit by a dog this week... twice. haha. Only one of
them broke thru my skin. Nothing bad. But things are really looking
up... I promise. :)
We felt a very strong prompting to go see Delbert at the beginning of
the week. We stopped by and he told us he had stopped drinking and
smoking! What!? He didn't smell like alcohol like usual. His whole
body and lips were uncontrollably shaking because of the withdrawals.
He was having a huge battle with demons during his sleep and he prayed
and he has slept peacefully since. He is reading in the BOM; already
up to the end of 2 Nephi. He loves Lehi. It was like a 100% turn
around. He also had his divorce go thru! It was a huge answer to all
of our prayers. He came to church and even bore his testimony. I was
kinda scared that he would say something off, but it was the best
testimony the whole sacrament meeting. I was blown away. The spirit
was really strong. Oh yeah and he came to a baptism up in Roseburg
with us and some members. Afterward he just went on and on about how
cool it will be for him to be baptized some day. Too many miracles to
even count. I feel so blessed to be seeing so many wonderful things on
my mission!!
Destiny told us that she talked to her husband about baptism and she
wants to learn and work towards it. Say what?! So cool! Wow, I am just
completely in awe at how good my Heavenly Father has been to me.
We had dinner with the Buckmans and they invited Janice over!! We
haven't seen her in about 2 weeks. She isn't interested in being
taught, but it was great to talk with her and catch up with her.
Well I got to see S. Nelson again. We had a fun time going on
exchanges. Love that girl. I am so grateful for my wonderful
companions. They have all taught me things that I will never forget.
S. Kaufusi and I are doing just great. We are climbing out of the hole
and really getting to see some amazing things. :)
